Charles Orchard moved from London to Hong Kong over 25 years ago in his career as an art and antiques consultant during the rapid development of the Asian hotel market. In 2000, he relocated to Indonesia to be closer to a manufacturing base and established iBalDesigns to provide high-end furniture and accessories to meet the demands of the constantly evolving hospitality industry.
Our work is seen in the interiors of over 100 hotels worldwide. We have worked with leading interior design firms and major international procurement companies, and have manufactured furniture for prestigious hotel brands including Four Seasons, TAJ Group, Park Hyatt, Kempinski, Regent, St Regis, Orient Express, Jumeirah and Alila, as well as many boutique hotels and notable private residences.
iBalDesigns is an environmentally conscious company and uses certified wood and renewable resources wherever possible. Charles is Chairman of the non-profit humanitarian ROLE Foundation (Rivers, Ocean, Land, Ecology), which is committed to increasing awareness and educating the local Indonesian community on environmental issues.
