Sustainable movement in creating uninterrupted green area

Denpasar the capital City of Bali has complex problems that leads to unstable design solution where Population growth, inadequate food supplies, lack of public spaces, land use change from green area into housing and commercial uses, reduction of paddy field by 750 hectare in 2017, unattractive public spaces and disconnection from nature have been addressed separately.


Biophilic Concept

Creating the site as a beacon to start a green city concept where biophilic lifted as the main feature. Why can it be a beacon? because it’s located at a main road intersection, and all road having a high traffic, so if we make the Site to be an attractive feature it can attract people to come. With many people come to the site, the site could give them bio-experience-education through animals activity, vegetation ambiance, water ripple from the lagoon, and people interaction through synergistic effect between green area and dwellings. The people could enjoy the healthiness of fresh air through oxygen created by many kinds of native plants; learning about green concept of living through urban farming whether it’s landed or on the rooftop as an sustainable urban food supplies; The people could do sports in urban forest; as an introduction of aesthetics aspect of native plants (flowers and trees); and happiness to see how domestic animals behave in their ecosystem ( frogs, swan, duck, squirrel, pigeon, fish, etc.). Reviving and protecting the rice field area to the site as a green land use through “loop” form design in between urban kampong area.



Urban Farming System

Biophilic Concept based on our understanding can be described as a collaboration between Human and nature to create greater outcomes such as improving well being,fitness, concentration, comfortable, reduce stress ,and many more. However, current approach in designing spaces within city area often disregards the synergistic effect between city , nature and human. This proposal seeks the synergy design solution to address all problems mentioned above.
